Love at First Sight (not!) #sixsunday

Welcome to this week's Six Sentence Sunday. The first six sentences from my recently released novella, Love Delivered.

Bianca lifted a box of books and bit back a curse when a heavy tome fell on her flip-flop-covered foot. She dropped the box, hopped around on her good foot, and shrieked when she spotted a grinning, dark-haired man standing at the front screen door.
“Sorry! I didn’t mean to startle you,” he said.
So what if he had a nice smile and his tan skin crinkled in a friendly way around his sky blue eyes? For all she knew he was a murderer, even if this wasn’t New York City. Her jaded attitude came from real-life experience—she’d been mugged twice in the past year. Just because this was a small town didn’t make it criminal-proof.

That's wonderful. I love heroines who not only have boxes full of books, but have books big enough to do damage when they fall on toes.

Love this six...so sweet and such a good beginning. But I guess there is always Ted Bundy!

LMAO, Kate!! Too funny. I agree, any heroine who owns that many books has gotta be okay.
Thanks so much for stopping by to read the excerpt and to comment. :)

You crack me up! You just never know who could show up at your front door, do ya? LOL.

Enjoyed this first meeting of the H/h! Felt like I was there in her head hopping around and then shrieking...

LOL, Angela. Hope your foot doesn't hurt too much from those books dropping on it. :)

Thanks very much for stopping by today and glad you were so pulled into the action!
