Romance is Being Part of a Team
This is going to sound soooo unromantic coming from a romance author, but I think that often romance isn’t about flowers and jewelry. Not even about a spicy bedroom life or passionate kisses.
Often, the most romantic thing about a relationship is being a team. Individually, each partner is pretty good. Together, they can be downright unstoppable. You know that expression “two heads are better than one?” Well, what if those two “heads” were not only committed intellectually, but also romantically? That bond—that close-in-a-way-you’ve-never-been-with-anyone-else-bond—can be the force that makes it easier to get things done.
Whether it’s dealing with a personal battle, brainstorming ideas for a book (yep, my awesome hubby does this for me!), painting a room, or making an important financial decision, working as a team can strengthen a relationship and bring more power to a situation.
Of course, flowers, jewelry and passion add a nice layer to the team. Showing you care, and that you’re thinking of the other person even when they’re not around, is very romantic, too!

What makes my relationship romantic is the awesome little boy that it created... when I see my husband looking at him with loving eyes I get all gooeyy :)

He reminds me to laugh - centers and grounds me. I manage to get him to laugh and relax and verbalize.. and he removes spiders.
You can't ask for more than that....
thanks for participating!

Thanks for the opportunity to meet you. I love your idea of romance, the extended version that goes deeper than the passionate kiss. It's knowing what your lover is thinking with just a glance, the look on his face, his body language.
featherstone.author@gmail.com
I agree with your idea of romance in a relationship. Having a united front is romantic and something that's important.

I agree, you could kiss without "romance" you have to have teamwork trying to accomplish like goals in life to have true romance.
kegasg@aol.com
I agree with you. My husband isn't too the flowers and since I'm perpetually on a diet, I'd kill him if he brought chocolates home, but our romance is just being together. We met young and have now been married for almost twenty years with three beautiful children. It's love!

I think for us it is the great team we make and the fact he can make me laugh and not take myself too seriously.

I think what makes our relationship romantic is doing all the little things, saying I love you, giving a kiss goodnight, helping each other out, encouraging and supporting each other. It doesn't have to be a grand gesture just daily support and love.
fencingromein at hotmail dot com
I have been married long enough that my husband cleaning the house before I get home is romantic. lol. Thx for giveaway.

I think, just the fact that we have been married for 30 years makes our relationship romantic! It's rare these days for a long. And, he still opens doors for me, holds hands... It's the little things, you know?

I am a sucker for the HEA. All my favorite authors give me a great story line, characters I can identify with, hot love scenes and a perfect HEA!
Thanks for being part of the hop and for the chance to win.

Thanks for the chance! To me what makes my romance work is the great respect for one another and being there for each other.
Thanks!
I love discovering new authors.
Thinking the same things are funny. Laughing together.

Joya - great blog! What is more romantice- your guy coming out of the bathroom and saying to his gal you need to call the plumber to fix the toilet seat or him asking for a screw drive so HE can fix the toilet seat?
My husband will bring home dinner on really busy nights so I have the evening off!

Being able to look at him and know that we can weather what comes our way. :0)

It's romantic when my husband goes out of his way to do something for me just to make me happy.

What you said is so true - it's a partnership & that's a balancing act. The unexpected little things are the best.

Our relationship is romantic because after 7 years we can still make each other giggle like teenagers. Laughter is very important to me. Without laughter you can't be happy. (IMO) Thanks for the giveaway.

The little things and the fact that family is so specail.
crystaley73 at yahoo dot com
The small things say romance to me. Touching my hand as he passes my chair.
Fixing my coffee just right, rubbing my shoulders after a long day
sugerlady@aol.com
My marriage to my husband is romantic to me because of the little things he does. Mainly that he lets me be ME. Also, he is really great with my daughter and my mother who is an invalid. I don't need showy expressions of romance. Just having him with me everyday is romantic.
koonie2888 at yahoo dot com
The little things people do just because.
My relationship is romantic because my boyfriend does little, nice, thoughtful things for me whenever he can and I do the same for him. We show each other a great amount of love, kindness, and respect. :)
craigcrystal(at)ymail(dot)com
I agree. That feeling that someone has got your back, especially if they are willing to rub it too, is very special.

You know there is nothing more romantic than seeing an elderly couple walk hand in hand obviously still in love.
I'm not elderly yet but DH and I are still going strong at almost 40 years.

I have learned that it is a romantic gesture on my hubby's part when he gets the oil changed so I don't have to or picks up my favorite candy bar for me when he stops at the store. It's all about him taking care of me :O) Carin

For me, romance is all about the trust and respect built between the characters. Since I write BDSM, these elements are very important.

I love when my husband touches the nape of my neck , it is his way of showing me his love for me...I also love when he set's up our massage table and calls me to our bedroom to give me a full body massage....that is romance...
ronnkelly3@aol.com
Any selfless act that my partner does is romantic, because a lot of time he can be selfish and so can I. It's the times he thinks of my needs before his or anyone elses that make me happy and feel loved. We definitely need a little bit more of that.

Doing something fun and unexpected each month.

What makes mine and my husbands relationship romantic is that we are considerate of each other and each one of us excels where the other fails which works perfectly!
Thanks for the hop!

Mine does the cutest thing for a couple that's been married 21 yrs. We'll be out, as in going to the mall, and as soon as I get out of the car he takes my hand.
vsloboda(at)gmail(dot)com
Thanks for participating! Really like the hop so far!! I love reading, especially romance. I love reading contemporary, historical and erotic romance. I love the happy ending that is garenteed at the end. My favorite book is Lover Mine by JR Ward! I love John Matthew and Xhex. My favorite romantic moment was when my fiancé asked me to marry him! We meant two years ago right around when summer was ending! I think it is romantic when he brings me flowers because no one else has ever done it! My friend and I went out for our last big night out before classes started again. Thanks so much! Hope everyone else is having a great long weekend!!
prettyunicorn78@yahoo.com
It's about the intimacy between partners and no, not sex. Being able to feel one anothers
feeling and express them without words. To know what your partner needs and wants before they even ask. The soul deep connection.
Thanks for participating in the hop and giving us all a chance to win.
bidelia78@yahoo.com
Well, I'm not currently in a relationship. But I think it's always the little things that make a big difference. Thank you for being part of the blog hop. :)
yazmin.z.rangel@gmail.com
I love this post. My hubby and I have been a great team from day one. This weekend is my 31st wedding anniversary and I'm so blessed to have the sweetest, most romantic man in my life. The last time he bought me a nice piece of jewery was my engagement ring. We don't go on fancy romantic vacations or do any of the many things people think are so romantic.
What makes him so amazing are the hundreds of sweet little things he does all the time. My favorite: every night, no matter how tired we are, he always leans over and kisses me good night and says, "thank you for marrying me. How sweet is that! Blind blowing sex, fabulous jewery, exotic vacations can never beat that.
Thanks for the great giveaway!!

What makes my relationship romantic is that fact that if something really matters to me, my husband remembers it. He knows the names of my favorite authors, my favorite stuffed animals, and my favorite places to visit. I know that no matter what, I'm the most important person in his life.
