Haunted Love: Now available in print! #ghosts #romance #PNR

I'm so excited to announce that all three books from the Hauntings at Inner Harbor ghost series are now available in one print book!

What do you get when you mix rugged guys, gorgeous women, a century-old haunted apartment building and meddling ghosts? Spicy, spine-tingling romance for three sexy couples, that’s what!

Hereafter
Pete doesn’t believe in ghosts. At least, not until he meets Angie, the beautiful spirit that haunts his apartment. Angie is looking for answers about her former earthly life, and Pete needs a reason to believe. But even if they find what they’re searching for, how can they share all the intimacies love has to offer…if he’s human and she’s a ghost!

Altered Frequency
Popular deejay Missy has decided the best way to heal from a tragic loss is to avoid men with dangerous jobs, and that includes her good-looking neighbor, Blake. When a matchmaking ghost gets involved—and danger rears its terrifying head—Missy and Blake realize they need each other in ways that are anything but physical.

Sidelined Afterlife
Try as he might, Hunter can’t shake the ghost that has been shadowing him. Enter Veronica, the psychic-medium who hates her “gift.” They realize early on that the only path to freedom is to help Hunter’s ghost find closure on unfinished business in this world. What Hunter and Veronica don’t realize is that falling in love might be part of the plan.

Romance and...Ghosts? SIDELINED AFTERLIFE is now available! #NewRelease #PNR

I'm sooooooo excited to announce that SIDELINED AFTERLIFE is now available! To help celebrate, I'm offering a Rafflecopter contest with some really cool prizes. Be sure to scroll down for a chance to win!

About Sidelined Afterlife
Psychic and medium Veronica Matthews hates being able to communicate with the dead and the nearly departed.  What good is it if she can’t lead the police to the victims of violent crimes before they die? But when her neighbor comes to her for help, she’s torn—until she understands that the ghost haunting him is more dangerous than any she’s encountered….

After losing his wife in a tragic accident, ER doctor Hunter Anderson’s only solace is his work and a ghost is jeopardizing that. Turning to his neighbor seems like his only choice, but spending time with the passionate woman, and her sassy attitude, might do more than save his life…

She can’t risk her heart. He’s afraid to love and lose again. Can a ghost help these two souls to live again?

Excerpt:
“I am an idiot. The biggest idiot ever. If you want me to pierce something for you, to prove I’m an idiot, I have some sterilized instruments upstairs in my apartment.”
Her tongue poked against her cheek, signaling a laugh that wanted to erupt. Suddenly, he really wanted to be the one who could make her laugh. “Maybe I could do your lower lip?”
Her short laugh erupted. A sweet, melodic sound that filled the small apartment.
His gaze stayed on that full mouth and he lifted his fingers closer, compelled to touch her.      She stared at him with wide eyes as he traced the corner of her mouth lightly with his finger.
“I’m a liar. I could never tarnish something as beautiful as this.”
Christ. What a line. Where had those words come from? But he meant it.
Her breath was hot against his finger as he traced the line of her lower lip. Her gaze held his. His stomach growled again, breaking the spell, and she blinked and leaned against the sofa.
“You know what? We never had dessert,” she said.
He had room for dessert. But not the food kind. He swallowed to quell his appetite for her. “Uh…how about I make an ice cream run? Then we’ll get to work.” Enough of this temptation. He needed to get away from her, from this pull she had on his body and emotions.

Lucky 13 Blog H O P! #prizes #halloween

Happy Halloween! What's your favorite part of the festivities? The costumes, the candy or the decorations and haunted houses/trails? However you have your fun, hope you'll scroll down to enter to win some great prizes as part of our Lucky 13 Blog Hop.

For me, it's the decorations. I love hanging lights, carving pumpkins, and displaying all sorts of scary creatures. For years, we had a haunted trail on our property. It was soooo much work, but it was sooo much fun. I think it's my dad's fault that I love decorating so much. When I was a kid, on Halloween night he would hang a dummy from a tree with a strap. And then every time a trick-or-treater came up our sidewalk, he'd make a scary noise and then drop the dummy. Kids loved it! They'd come back to our house two or three times, I think.

My experiences with Halloween are part of the reason I love writing about ghosts! They're mischievous, a little (a lot?) scary, and very mysterious. That's what makes them so fun to write about. My trilogy, HAUNTINGS AT INNER HARBOR, features a 100 year-old apartment building in downtown Baltimore. Imagine the ghosts that residents have to deal with! Bad ghosts...monster ghosts...and even a matchmaking ghost. I'm thrilled to announce that the third book in the series will be releasing very soon. The first two are available now! Hope you'll check them out.

He doesn’t believe in ghosts, she’s a ghost who needs his help.

Altered Frequency (Hauntings at Inner Harbor, Book 2) Release Day!!! #newrelease, #contemporaryromance

<Click HERE to visit the Sinful Sirens Giveaway Hop Page>

It's release day! It's release day! Altered Frequency is now available! A disc jokey who needs to stay away from men with dangerous jobs, a cop with trust issues, and an elderly matchmaking ghost who insists the two belong together. Altered Frequency (Hauntings at Inner Harbor, Book 2).

Excerpt:

A shadow moved from the other side of the hallway. Blake froze, and his fingers moved to his weapon. He blinked. Nothing there. He dug in his pocket for his keys and glanced at Missy’s doorway.
Betty—wearing her pink sweat suit and flamingo earrings—stood grinning at him. She winked, raised her hand, and then knocked three times on Missy’s door.
Blake’s mouth opened and then closed. Betty disappeared. He closed his eyes for a half a minute and then opened them when he heard Missy’s door open.
Missy stood in the doorway wearing the same clothes as earlier. A white T-shirt, a pair of jeans, and a simple necklace that hung between her breasts, spiraling the memory of her body to the forefront of his mind. He knew exactly how those curves felt under his hands and he craved the feel of them again.
“Hey. Thanks for stopping by the bookstore today.” Missy pocketed her hands in her jeans, pulling them down just enough for him to get a glimpse of her lower belly. He swallowed in order to concentrate.
“You—you should look out your peephole before you open your door.” There. He’d be the concerned policeman who lived across the hall. But how the hell had Betty…no, it couldn’t have been Betty. What was going on?
Missy frowned. “You feeling all right?”
“Yeah. Of course.”
“’Cause I did look out my peephole and I saw you.” She tilted her head. “I sort of thought it was okay to open up since it was my neighbor, the cop.”
How had he gotten in front of her door? He’d been several feet away when Betty…when…. Oh shit. He really needed that beer now. Time for a change of subject. He’d process the other stuff later.

Sinful Sirens Give Away H O P #prizes #romance

What's so sinful about a siren? Not a darn thing if you ask them. Sirens are fun, sexy, confident and beautiful. You can win some really cool prizes at the Sinful Sirens Giveaway Hop by stopping by the participating blogs. You can win a $10 Amazon/BN certificate on this blog, too! Details are below, but in the meantime, here's an excerpt from Hereafter (Book 1, Hauntings at Inner Harbor), my contemporary romance with a ghostly twist. And guess what? Altered Frequency (Book 2, Altered Frequency) released just a few days ago!

Angel’s body tingled. Her skin rippled with electricity, and she recognized the signs that she’d be transported soon.
Yes. Finally. She closed her eyes, wishing she could rush the transition from her world to his. Cool air prickled her skin and she stood in the man’s dark apartment. With moonlight shining through the sheers, she could make out his form on the sofa.
He jumped up and faced her.
She wanted to speak, but she couldn’t.
“The electricity went off again,” he said.
She frowned.
He stepped closer. “Ghosts don’t exist.”
No. He couldn’t banish her again. She needed something in this world. The lights flickered, sizzled, and then went off again.
Please don’t tell me to go away; it makes me go away. She might not have a voice in this world, but she could at least think it. She would not go, not when potential answers waited in this place.
The man stepped closer. “What are you doing? Angie, why do you keep coming here?”
Don’t tell me to leave…don’t tell me to leave. Pictures flew into her mind. People smiling and laughing. A tree in the corner with white lights and boxes under it….
He’d called her Angie.
“You know me?” Her words came out a whisper, but at least they finally came out. Tears tracked down her cheeks. The electricity flickered on, and then, stayed off. The air stopped sizzling. She blinked to adjust her eyes to the darkness again.
“Christ, this can’t be happening.” He moved his fingers over something in his hand and then pocketed it.
She closed the distance between them and grasped his upper arms, pleading him with her eyes because her voice had left her again.
“Yes, I know you.” He glanced away and looked out the window, let out a huff of breath, and then gazed at her. “Your name is Angie Barsotti and you used to live here.”
No wonder the place felt so familiar. Her spirits lifted. He could help her find out who she was, help her find out what was going on.
“And,” he dragged a hand through his hair. “You died and I don’t believe in ghosts.”
Cold air, cold as ice tore through her, ripping her from the apartment.

Caution! Researching Ghosts Can Lead To Sleepless Nights. #DecadentJourney #DecadentAuthors

Welcome to a fun celebration of Decadent Publishing!

My journey with Decadent started with a ghost. Yep! That's right. A beautiful ghost that haunted an apartment where a handsome, yet tortured, hero lived. HEREAFTER (Book 1, Hauntings at Inner Harbor) is the first in a triology about a haunted Baltimore apartment building. The story has a very unusual twist to it, one that has surprised a lot of readers. And boy, do I love surprising readers! :) Researching ghosts and psychic abilities was a lot of fun. I watched almost every episode of "Ghost Hunters," trying to get my details right. I also read lots of ghosts books and blogs. Sometimes this got a little scary. Especially when I stayed up late when the rest of my family was asleep. But I liked getting scared! It helped me understand how someone who saw a ghost might feel.
The generous folks and my fellow authors at Decadent have been so supportive. And now, I'm thrilled to announce that the second story in the series, ALTERED FREQUENCY (Book 2, Hauntings at Inner Harbor), will be releasing soon. It features a Baltimore DJ and a Baltimore policeman. I visited a local radio station to get a first-hand experience of what a DJ does. Talk about fun!!
And to continue my journey at Decadent, it's time to finish my final revisions of the third story and get it submitted. My journey continues! Thanks, Decadent.

When by-the-numbers accountant Rob Morrison, a skeptic of all things paranormal, moves into a new apartment and discovers it is haunted by the corporeal ghost of a beautiful woman, he musthastily reconsider his beliefs and revisit his painful past.
With no memory of her time on earth, Angie Barsotti doesn’t understand why she’s compelled to visit the same apartment every night as a ghost caught between two worlds. If she’s to have a chance to move on, she needs to find the missing pieces of her life and death through the man who lives there…if only he’d believe in her.
Together they struggle to find the truth about her death and stumble upon a very pleasurable way to time travel, hopeful they can prevent her death. But someone doesn’t want them to discover the truth. And if she’s human again, will she have any memories of her time as a ghost…and more importantly, will she remember the man who helped her find her way?

It's Okay to Lean on Someone Else Once in a While #SnippetSunday

Welcome to another Snippet Sunday! In this excerpt from Hereafter (Book 1, Hauntings at Inner Harbor), Angie discovers it doesn't make her weak to accept help. Sometimes we all need someone to lean on.

He lifted her chin with a finger. "I promise, I’ll find out what you need to know. I’ll do everything I can to help you."

Angie smiled, surprised that she could when her heart swelled with misery. If she could find out what happened on her own, she would. But she couldn’t. She needed Rob. The expression on his face, the sadness in his eyes told her he wanted to know her story almost as badly as she did.

To Hell With Science...I'm In Love With A Ghost #sixsunday

Welcome to Six Sentence Sunday: Where writers share six sentences from their published or unpublished books.

In this snippet from my recently-released novel, HEREAFTER, a contemporary romance with a ghostly twist, Rob finally realizes he doesn't care if Angie's a ghost or not...he needs to help her.

Her body shook, and Rob hugged her close, stroked her hair. "Okay, you’re okay now." She wasn’t human, and he didn’t care. To hell with science, and reason.

For a moment, they held each other. He cherished the feel of her skin, the scent of her hair, and her womanly curves.

Heartbreaker Blog H O P

Heartbreakers…. We’ve all met one.
Will they be forever a bad boy, or can they be changed?

Almost 300 bloggers have giveaways and posts about those men we love!
But that's not all....
We have THREE grand prizes. You as a reader can go to EACH blog and comment with your email address and be entered to win. Yep, you can enter over 200 times! Be sure to scroll down to check out those prizes!

Are Heartbreakers bad to the bone, or scarred? Are they incapable of love, or hurting too deep to give love a try again? Heartbreakers might get a bad rep, but sometimes they’re coming from an honest place. Maybe he’s been scorned one too many times by a lover who leaves him for another. Or told he’s not good enough…and believes it.
In my recent release, HEREAFTER, heroine Angie views Rob as a heartbreaker at first because he refuses to believe in her. Without him, she has no chance to find out who she is, why she is a ghost, and how to escape the shadowy afterworld where she lives.
What do you think? Can a heartbreaker ever change, or will he always remain a heartbreaker? Leave me a comment with your opinion on the matter and you’ll be entered for a $10 Amazon or Barnes & Noble Gift Card.
Here’s a quick excerpt from HEREAFTER to shine a little light on Rob’s struggle to believe in Angie.

Angel’s body tingled. Her skin rippled with electricity, and she recognized the signs that she’d be transported soon.

Sex With a Ghost? Possible? #SixSunday #ghosts

Well, folks. This is it. The last Six Sentence Sunday. It's been a place where writers share six sentences from their published or unpublished books.
Thank you so much, Sara Brookes and your team of volunteers for heading up this fun Sunday event for the past years. What a great idea...I'll miss it and I know lots of readers and authors will miss it, too. Thank you!

In this snippet from my just-released novel, HEREAFTER, Rob and Angie decide it's time to give in to their physical need for each other.
But still...she's a ghost...he's a human. How do such things work?

Whatever she was, whatever form this woman used to present herself to him, she was more real right now than any woman he’d ever been with. She didn’t hide her desire, she responded to his touch as if it were the only thing that mattered. He wanted to be her world, wanted to make her world better.
Slowly, he lifted the billowy gown over her head, exposing her perfect breasts. He glanced into her eyes for confirmation that what he was doing was okay. She smiled and her eyes fluttered closed.

Wait...Are You a Ghost, Too? #SixSunday

Welcome to Six Sentence Sunday: Where writers share six sentences from their published or unpublished books.

In this snippet from my just-released novel, HEREAFTER, the hero and heroine are trying to figure out just exactly how ghostly they really are.

“Why would you think I’m a ghost?” He pinched the skin on his arm as if that were proof of his human existence.
Angie tilted her head to study him. He certainly looked human. Could he be a ghost and not know it? “I saw you today in my other world.”
