I'm so excited to announce that all three books from the Hauntings at Inner Harbor ghost series are now available in one print book!

What do you get when you mix rugged guys, gorgeous women, a century-old haunted apartment building and meddling ghosts? Spicy, spine-tingling romance for three sexy couples, that’s what!

Hereafter
Pete doesn’t believe in ghosts. At least, not until he meets Angie, the beautiful spirit that haunts his apartment. Angie is looking for answers about her former earthly life, and Pete needs a reason to believe. But even if they find what they’re searching for, how can they share all the intimacies love has to offer…if he’s human and she’s a ghost!

Altered Frequency
Popular deejay Missy has decided the best way to heal from a tragic loss is to avoid men with dangerous jobs, and that includes her good-looking neighbor, Blake. When a matchmaking ghost gets involved—and danger rears its terrifying head—Missy and Blake realize they need each other in ways that are anything but physical.

Sidelined Afterlife
Try as he might, Hunter can’t shake the ghost that has been shadowing him. Enter Veronica, the psychic-medium who hates her “gift.” They realize early on that the only path to freedom is to help Hunter’s ghost find closure on unfinished business in this world. What Hunter and Veronica don’t realize is that falling in love might be part of the plan.

Summer fun, a free book, and a new release! #ReunitedInDanger #romance #summer

The Chesapeake Bay in Baltimore. A great place
to get cooled off in the summer, and the setting for
Reunited in Danger.
Are you an avid reader? If you're like me, maybe you think there's no better time to read than summer! The slower pace, longer days, and sunshine make it the perfect time to crack open a new book or download it to your eReader. Whether you like to read under an air-conditioning vent, on a sandy beach, or by the Chesapeake Bay in Baltimore, is there a spot that's beckoning to you?

I've got lots of really cool stuff going on these next few weeks as we celebrate my newest release--Reunited in Danger. It's a romantic suspense novel, set in Baltimore, near and on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. What is it about the water that makes us breathe deeper, relax our muscles, and smile?  Harborplace in Baltimore is one of my favorite places to visit in the summer because of the harbor.

The bay  is a place where boaters can feel the spray of the cool water and the heat of the sun. It's a place where tourists can board a pontoon, take panoramic pictures of the city and watch the sun set.
Hundreds of rivers and streams drain into the Chesapeake Bay. And that's another fun summer activity--splashing in a river or stream. There's nothing like donning a pair of old shoes and taking a cool walk through a babbling brook on a hot and steamy day. What's your favorite water activity? I'd love to hear about it.

Be sure to use the Rafflecopter below for your chance to win one of five autographed print copies of Beneath the Surface via Goodreads. I hope you'll consider adding Reunited in Danger to your "want to read" pile, too!
As always, thanks for your support!

Reunited in Danger releases in ONE WEEK! I'm celebrating by giving away five print copies of my award-winning romantic suspense novel, Beneath the Surface.

Reunited in Danger...
releasing July 8th.

Altered Frequency (Hauntings at Inner Harbor, Book 2) Release Day!!! #newrelease, #contemporaryromance

<Click HERE to visit the Sinful Sirens Giveaway Hop Page>

It's release day! It's release day! Altered Frequency is now available! A disc jokey who needs to stay away from men with dangerous jobs, a cop with trust issues, and an elderly matchmaking ghost who insists the two belong together. Altered Frequency (Hauntings at Inner Harbor, Book 2).

Excerpt:

A shadow moved from the other side of the hallway. Blake froze, and his fingers moved to his weapon. He blinked. Nothing there. He dug in his pocket for his keys and glanced at Missy’s doorway.
Betty—wearing her pink sweat suit and flamingo earrings—stood grinning at him. She winked, raised her hand, and then knocked three times on Missy’s door.
Blake’s mouth opened and then closed. Betty disappeared. He closed his eyes for a half a minute and then opened them when he heard Missy’s door open.
Missy stood in the doorway wearing the same clothes as earlier. A white T-shirt, a pair of jeans, and a simple necklace that hung between her breasts, spiraling the memory of her body to the forefront of his mind. He knew exactly how those curves felt under his hands and he craved the feel of them again.
“Hey. Thanks for stopping by the bookstore today.” Missy pocketed her hands in her jeans, pulling them down just enough for him to get a glimpse of her lower belly. He swallowed in order to concentrate.
“You—you should look out your peephole before you open your door.” There. He’d be the concerned policeman who lived across the hall. But how the hell had Betty…no, it couldn’t have been Betty. What was going on?
Missy frowned. “You feeling all right?”
“Yeah. Of course.”
“’Cause I did look out my peephole and I saw you.” She tilted her head. “I sort of thought it was okay to open up since it was my neighbor, the cop.”
How had he gotten in front of her door? He’d been several feet away when Betty…when…. Oh shit. He really needed that beer now. Time for a change of subject. He’d process the other stuff later.

It's Okay to Lean on Someone Else Once in a While #SnippetSunday

Welcome to another Snippet Sunday! In this excerpt from Hereafter (Book 1, Hauntings at Inner Harbor), Angie discovers it doesn't make her weak to accept help. Sometimes we all need someone to lean on.

He lifted her chin with a finger. "I promise, I’ll find out what you need to know. I’ll do everything I can to help you."

Angie smiled, surprised that she could when her heart swelled with misery. If she could find out what happened on her own, she would. But she couldn’t. She needed Rob. The expression on his face, the sadness in his eyes told her he wanted to know her story almost as badly as she did.

Hereafter, a contemporary romance with a ghostly twist, is available now:

To Hell With Science...I'm In Love With A Ghost #sixsunday

Welcome to Six Sentence Sunday: Where writers share six sentences from their published or unpublished books.

In this snippet from my recently-released novel, HEREAFTER, a contemporary romance with a ghostly twist, Rob finally realizes he doesn't care if Angie's a ghost or not...he needs to help her.

Her body shook, and Rob hugged her close, stroked her hair. "Okay, you’re okay now." She wasn’t human, and he didn’t care. To hell with science, and reason.

For a moment, they held each other. He cherished the feel of her skin, the scent of her hair, and her womanly curves.

Sex With a Ghost? Possible? #SixSunday #ghosts

Well, folks. This is it. The last Six Sentence Sunday. It's been a place where writers share six sentences from their published or unpublished books.
Thank you so much, Sara Brookes and your team of volunteers for heading up this fun Sunday event for the past years. What a great idea...I'll miss it and I know lots of readers and authors will miss it, too. Thank you!

In this snippet from my just-released novel, HEREAFTER, Rob and Angie decide it's time to give in to their physical need for each other.
But still...she's a ghost...he's a human. How do such things work?

Whatever she was, whatever form this woman used to present herself to him, she was more real right now than any woman he’d ever been with. She didn’t hide her desire, she responded to his touch as if it were the only thing that mattered. He wanted to be her world, wanted to make her world better.
Slowly, he lifted the billowy gown over her head, exposing her perfect breasts. He glanced into her eyes for confirmation that what he was doing was okay. She smiled and her eyes fluttered closed.

Wait...Are You a Ghost, Too? #SixSunday

Welcome to Six Sentence Sunday: Where writers share six sentences from their published or unpublished books.

In this snippet from my just-released novel, HEREAFTER, the hero and heroine are trying to figure out just exactly how ghostly they really are.

“Why would you think I’m a ghost?” He pinched the skin on his arm as if that were proof of his human existence.
Angie tilted her head to study him. He certainly looked human. Could he be a ghost and not know it? “I saw you today in my other world.”

Even Ghosts Can Be Scared of the Dark #SixSunday

Welcome to Six Sentence Sunday: Where writers share six sentences from their published or unpublished books.

Are you afraid of the dark? I think this scene from my latest romance, HEREAFTER, comes from a nightmare I had as a child. Or maybe it’s all the horror movies I’ve watched with my hands over my eyes.
   Alone…in the dark…something is after me…
But can ghosts be afraid of the dark? These six sentences will show you how Angie, the corporeal ghost heroine of HERAFTER, feels when she’s thrust into darkness.

The inky blackness made it impossible to see her own hand. Fear formed a tight knot in her stomach, and Angie wrapped her arms around herself to ward off the cold.
She turned and lost her bearings. Did she turn all the way around?
A scratching sound, like a trapped animal, echoed from somewhere in the distance. Keeping her right foot planted, Angie stepped out and lunged into the darkness, reaching with both hands, trying to figure out where she was.

I hope you'll enjoy this short excerpt from my new contemporary romance, Hereafter. It's a modern day ghost story where the impossible somehow becomes possible...

Angel’s body tingled. Her skin rippled with electricity, and she recognized the signs that she’d be transported soon.
Yes. Finally. She closed her eyes, wishing she could rush the transition from her world to his. Cool air prickled her skin and she stood in the man’s dark apartment. With moonlight shining through the sheers, she could make out his form on the sofa.
He jumped up and faced her.
She wanted to speak, but she couldn’t.
“The electricity went off again,” he said.
She frowned.
He stepped closer. “Ghosts don’t exist.”
No. He couldn’t banish her again. She needed something in this world. The lights flickered, sizzled, and then went off again.
Please don’t tell me to go away; it makes me go away. She might not have a voice in this world, but she could at least think it. She would not go, not when potential answers waited in this place.
The man stepped closer. “What are you doing? Angie, why do you keep coming here?”
Don’t tell me to leave…don’t tell me to leave. Pictures flew into her mind. People smiling and laughing. A tree in the corner with white lights and boxes under it….
He’d called her Angie.
“You know me?” Her words came out a whisper, but at least they finally came out. Tears tracked down her cheeks. The electricity flickered on, and then, stayed off. The air stopped sizzling. She blinked to adjust her eyes to the darkness again.
“Christ, this can’t be happening.” He moved his fingers over something in his hand and then pocketed it.
She closed the distance between them and grasped his upper arms, pleading him with her eyes because her voice had left her again.
“Yes, I know you.” He glanced away and looked out the window, let out a huff of breath, and then gazed at her. “Your name is Angie Barsotti and you used to live here.”
No wonder the place felt so familiar. Her spirits lifted. He could help her find out who she was, help her find out what was going on.
“And,” he dragged a hand through his hair. “You died and I don’t believe in ghosts.”
Cold air, cold as ice tore through her, ripping her from the apartment.

Cover Reveal! Hereafter will be available on Dec. 11th #romance #ghosts

-->CLICK HERE FOR WINTER WONDERLAND SCAVENGER HUNT<--

HEREAFTER, a contemporary romance with a ghostly twist, will release December 11th. Check out this awesome cover by Decadent Publishing artist Angela Anderson.

Hereafter is the first in the trilogy Hauntings at Inner Harbor--a series about a haunted downtown Baltimore apartment building.

When by-the-numbers accountant Rob Morrison, a skeptic of all things paranormal, moves into a new apartment and discovers it is haunted by the corporeal ghost of a beautiful woman, he must hastily reconsider his beliefs and revisit his painful past.

With no memory of her time on earth, Angie Barsotti doesn’t understand why she’s compelled to visit the same apartment every night as a ghost caught between two worlds. If she’s to have a chance to move on, she needs to find the missing pieces of her life and death through the man who lives there…if only he’d believe in her.

Together they struggle to find the truth about her death and stumble upon a very pleasurable way to time travel, hopeful they can prevent her death. But someone doesn’t want them to discover the truth. And if she’s human again, will she have any memories of her time as a ghost…and more importantly, will she remember the man who helped her find her way?
Hereafter...available December 11, 2012

Inner Harbor, Baltimore, MD
Alicia Dean tagged me in the fun activity The Next Big Thing. It’s a blog circle where authors tag each other, giving fellow authors an opportunity to share their current Works in Progress (WIP).
Here are the questions I was asked to answer….

What is your working title of your book?
Ghostly Voices

Where did the idea come from for the book?
My daughter. LOL. This is the third book in my Hauntings at Inner Harbor series, and I knew books one and two right away. My daughter helped me flush the main idea for this book.

What genre does your book fall under?
Contemporary paranormal romance.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Ian Somerhalder and Rumer Willis

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
A psychic-medium whose painful experiences with ghosts have left her empty and disheartened must choose between keeping a promise to herself and helping a handsome doctor rid himself of a dangerous ghost.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
This book will be published as part of a series at a publisher.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
Still working on it. Hope to be finished within four weeks.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
It’s a little bit like Grey’s Anatomy-meets-Ghost-meets-The Wire.

Who or what inspired you to write this book?
I have always loved the city of Baltimore and knew its history would lend itself to some fun ghost stories.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
The heroine is a psychic-medium, but circumstances have made her hate her so-called gift. I think she is going to have some fun conversations with Edgar Allan Poe who lived in Baltimore for a few years, and died there, too. Hereafter, book one of this series, releases in early December!
